The incumbent chairman of Orumba-North council area Chief Emeka Aforka has debunked the rumours making the rounds that he plans to represent Orumba-North state constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly in 2019. He said he had no intention to run for any elective position in the 2019 general elections.
Aforka who made his position known to newsmen in Awka, stated that he had not mentioned categorically that he had an eye for Orumba-North assembly seat rather he was contented being the transition committee chairman of the council area.
He maintained that rather than go through the rigorious election processes, he would concentrate on providing result-oriented leadership to the people of Orumba-North local government area of Anambra state and avoid being distracted by incessant demands from his people to run for the aforestated position.
Aforka said he was comfortable with being the TC chairman even though he was consulting with the people of Orumba-North whom he said had persistently requested him to indicate interest to enable them to support his ambition.
The Orumba-North council chairman whose appointment was renewed lately by the Anambra State House of Assembly lauded the wife of the governor Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano for her humanitarian services to the people of Anambra state.
He said the Governor’s wife paid attention to the less-privileged and downtrodden in the society judging from the provision of shelter, food, clothings as well as means of livelihood for commoners and have-nots across Anambra state. He described her as ultruistic and philanthropic in her personal disposition.
