The Anambra State House of Assembly aspirant for Orumba North state constituency, Hon. Emeka Aforka, has dumped his appointment as the transition chairman of Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, to
pursue his political aspiration.
Aforka who has been in the corridor of Anambra state politics since the Administration of the former governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi, said he resigned to enable him offer a stronger voice and effective representation to the good people of his constituency.
A onetime Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano, who spoke with journalists in Awka the Anambra State Capital, yesterday, assured his constituents that if voted into power, he would give special attention to empowerment programmes for the people, especially for the teaming youths.
He said as a grassroots man, he would make sure that all the moribund infrastructures and the dying public schools, health facilities that needed government attention in Orumba North state constituency are brought back to life.
He said he would also promote special empowerment programmes for women, widows and even physically challenged, because of their special needs.
He enjoined people of the constituency to endeavour to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, stressing that it was their mandate to elect who governs them at any given time.
The aspiring lawmaker then urged those residing in Orumba LGA and other parts of the state who are from the constituency to get their PVCs and make sure they register before the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, August 17, 2018 deadline for the PVC registration ends.
