Anambra 2021: APGA Will Remain In Power — Aforka

Raymond Ozoji, Awka

The Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Orumba-North state constituency in the 7th legislature of Anambra state, Hon. Emeka Aforka, says Anambra was a den of high-profile criminality before the advent of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration. He also said the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would remain in power come November 6 this year.

Aforka stated this while speaking on the expected victory of the APGA in the November 6 governorship election in the state.

The Deputy Majority Leader observed that the era of attacks on bullion vans in broad daylight was now in the past because Governor Obiano took the security of lives and property of citizens as topmost priority.

He said, “There was a time Anambra was in the bad news for high-level crimes but today, they are now past history. So who will say that Governor Willie Obiano didn’t do well in Anambra state?

“There was a time our people do traditional marriages of their children in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country for fear of the men of the underworld because they can not come home due to insecurity. But today, the story is different because people go for social activities, move around in expensive cars and even sleep with their two eyes closed.

“So what other parameters do you want to measure the governor’s performance with or even assess good governance? When you come to infrastructure, the governor has legacy projects. People thought the airport project is a mirage but it is a reality because I have visited the place and saw the gigantic project.”

Aforka observed that in spite of the economic crunch of the year 2020 occasioned by the  COVID-19 pandemic as well as the EndSARS incursions, the governor still prudently managed the lean resources available at his disposal and attended to the infrastructural needs of Ndi-Anambra.

The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman Public Petitions Committee of the Anambra State House of Assembly, pointed out that from the political equations, APGA would remain in power come November 6 this year because the party was structurally on ground to achieve such conquest.
