… as SPF is unveiled with great fanfare in the community

The unveiling of the Soludo Promoters Forum (SPF) chapter in Igbo-Ukwu on November 28, 2020 marked the climax of the series of activities embarked upon by the Promoters of the Forum.
The enthusiasm, excitement and passion shown by the Igbo-Ukwu community people were profound and visible to all and sundry who graced the occasion.
Welcoming the elites to the occasion, the host, Sir Chidi Iloh, said he was happy to host the great sons and daughters of the Igbo-Ukwu community.
He said Igbo-Ukwu as a town is in dire need of development – the type that can only come through government presence. He therefore called on the people to join in the promotion of Prof Soludo’s movement into Agu Awka in order to benefit from his expert economic policies and management acumen which he will bring to bear in the state if given the opportunity.
Chief Amaechi Umeh, the Convener/Coordinator of the event harped on the need for the people to get their PVC (Permanent Voters Card), stressing that democracy is a game of numbers where the candidate who garnered the highest electoral votes is usually declared the winner.
He affirmed that the launch of SPF in Igbo Ukwu signposts the beginning of greater things that will come the way of the community.
He expressed his profound gratitude to Mr Joe Anatune, Chief Strategist/National Coordinator of SPF and other Facilitators including Barrister Leo Chiegboka, Mr Andy Okafor, Prof Okey Ikeanyibe and many others.
The chairman of the event, Engr Emeka Okafor, thanked the organizers for a good job. He appealed to the elites to be actively involved in politics, saying it is no longer going to be ‘business as usual’ for all comers. He stated further that SPF provides a veritable platform to brainstorm and chart the way forward for the benefits of the future generation.
The President General (PG) of the Town, Architect Christian Ikeh, said he knew Prof Soludo right from his University days, adding that he has no doubts that Soludo will perform creditably well if given the opportunity to serve Anambra state. He said the Igbo-Ukwu community will give Soludo a 110 percent support in the journey towards 2021 gubernatorial election.
The father of the day, and the Regent of the Community, Chief Mike Nduka (Oji 3) praised the organisers of the event for the sensitization and enlightenment campaign for elites to get fully involved in politics. He prayed for the success of the Promoters of SPF in view of the good job the group is doing.
Joe Anatune, the national coordinator of SPF, speaking on behalf of the group, said he can assure the people that “when Soludo comes, the world will come to Igbo-Ukwu and Igbo-Ukwu will go to the world”. He appealed to the people to close ranks and support the Soludo project with the same passion and commitment they have shown on this occasion.
Joe Anatune later unveiled the Soludo Smart Megacity plan to the audience and the benefits acruable to the delight of the people.
Prof Charles Soludo via the telephone also delivered his solidarity message to the people.
The erudite Professor said the world is fast changing arising from the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic stressing that these changes will affect the country and Anambra state.
He emphasized on the need for all and sundry to brace up in order to be able to overcome the challenges ahead. Soludo expressed his deepest gratitude to the audience and Igbo-Ukwu community for the love and support shown to him.
Other Speakers on the occasion also eulogized Soludo for his intellectual prowess and leadership acumen.
Barrister Eze Akajiugo one of the speakers said if Soludo does not occupy Agu Awka come 2022, he will go on a 100-day hunger strike but he quickly added that he does not fore-see such disaster happening.
Other key Speakers who took turns to speak include Prof Okey Ikeanyibe, Prof Herbert Iloh, Dr Greg Eze-Iloh and many others.
Before the event finally came to an end, a working committee comprising Sir Chidi Iloh, Chief Amaechi Umeh, Nze Basil Osuokwu, Bar M.C.k Uba, Dr Ik Muo, Arinze kamelu, Mrs Ijeoma Okeke, Barrister Tochukwu and other eminent personalities was set up and inaugurated to drive the SPF activities within the community and its environs.
