Chidi Livinus Udemadu, the lawmaker who represented Ihiala 1 state constituency in the just concluded 7th legislature of Anambra state has stated that he didn’t disappoint the people of Ihiala 1 constituency in all the 8 years he served in the House of Assembly.
Udemadu who made this declarative statement during his valedictory speech on the floor of the House of Assembly, said also that he and the Deputy Speaker Paschal Agbodike who represented Ihiala 2 state constituency, broke the jinx of single term in Ihiala local government area.
From hindsight, Udemadu listed persons who represented Ihiala 1&2 since the return of democratic rule in Nigeria till date but none scaled through two terms completely except for him and Paschal Agbodike, who were elected into the House of Assembly in 2015 and stayed through to 2023.
Udemadu explained that the reason he said the jinx of single term has been broken in Ihiala local government area was that the doors of progress have been wisely opened because the two terms will further enhance the zoning system in Ihiala local government area.
Udemadu also maintained that himself and the Deputy Speaker were the only ones who came to the House of Assembly without any litigation throughout the 8 years they served the people of Ihiala 1 &2 constituencies.
He is of the opinion that anyone coming to the House of Assembly from Ihiala 1&2 would be spending two terms because such according to him, come with a lot of experience.
Again, Udemadu said he is of the opinion that elected representatives of the legislature should be allowed a second term in office because he believes very strongly that the representative will have the ability to attract more for his people especially at the Federal House of Representatives.
Udemadu however prayed that if it is God’s will for Paschal Agbodike, he should be allowed a second term in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly to enable him perform exceedingly well for Ihiala federal constituency.
When asked about his major achievements as a lawmaker in the state assembly for two terms, he said the question should be deferred to the day of his thanksgiving when he would unfold his achievements to the people of Ihiala local government area because he doesn’t advertise projects and programmes of development in the social media.
