Anambra Community Endorses Lawmaker’s Second Term Bid

The people of Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka council area of Anambra state have endorsed the member representing Njikoka One constituency Dr Timothy Ifedioranma for second term into the state House of Assembly following his people-oriented representation in the last three years.

The town with four wards out of eight wards in Njikoka One constituency, has benefited from the state government since their two sons Dr Nkem Okeke and Hon Ferdinand Nwankwo are Deputy Governor of the state and representative of Njikoka, Anaocha and Dunukofia Federal Constituency respectively, hence the need to support Dr Ifedioranma who is from another town Nawfia, in the constituency.

It is against this backdrop that Enugwu Ukwu people unanimously resolved to back Dr Ifedioranma for another four years in line with resolution reached to that effect by the traditional rulers and president generals of the three towns making up the constituency namely Enugwu-Ukwu, Enugwu-Agidi and Nawfia.

Speaking at the town hall meeting at Enugwu-Ukwu Civic Centre at the weekend, the President General Enugwu Ukwu Community Development Union (ECDU), Mr Bonny Ozonkwo said the resolution on rotational representation of eight years apiece was to ensure that no town would feel shortchanged in the affairs of the constituency and that the rotational representation starts with the incumbent Dr Ifedioranma.

He however urged him to open database of unemployed youths for onward employment whenever the opportunity arises and to continue his annual tenure report of stewardship when elected into another four years.

Other constituents, Chief Sir Okezie Ekpe, Mrs Catherine Okoye and Mr Shedrack Okoye, lauded the lawmaker for sponsoring about 10 bills and 25 motions in the House which bordered on the welfare and betterment of Njikoka One constituency while the village chairman of Uruebo Village Mr Ngaji Anthony decried absence of any project of sort executed by the lawmaker in his village and advised Dr Ifedioranma to solve the needs of the people in his second tenure.

Earlier, a group in Njikoka Local Government area, under the auspices of “Concerned Umunri Group”, had passed a vote of confidence on Dr Timothy Ifedioramma of Njikoka One Constituency for his quality representation of his people at the State House of Assembly.

The group comprises Enugwu-Ukwu, Enugwu-Agidi and Nawfia which have eight wards that make up Njikoka Constituency One.

Speaking when it passed a vote of confidence on the lawmaker at its meeting at Enugwu-Ukwu, the Secretary of the Group, Mr Chukwuezugo Akaigwe explained that Dr Ifedioramma has executed gigantic projects in Nawfia, Enugwu-Ukwu and Enugwu Agidi to deserve a second term.

He noted that the lawmaker has constructed classroom blocks at Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia; Boys High School Enugwu Agidi and Okatalukwe Secondary school, Enugwu-Ukwu respectively.

He further stated that the Lawmaker sank boreholes in the aforementioned villages among others.

Later, the leaders of the eight wards in the constituency took turn to endorse the lawmaker for a second term .
