Anambra Community, Ubuluisiuzor, Gets More Amenities

Raymond Ozoji, Awka

Ubuluisiuzor, one of the seven communities in Ihiala two state constituency, has received more social amenities and infrastructure to help improve the living conditions of community dwellers in the area. The community which hitherto suffered from lack of potable drinking water, unmotorable roads and a host of other amenities, now boasts of government intervention which has translated into the execution of community development projects as evident in rural road maintenance, sinking of water borehole facilities and a host of other social amenities that have brought the community to limelight.

Paschal Agbodike (Ph. D) the lawmaker representing Ihiala two state constituency in the sixth Anambra State House of Assembly, who spoke on the metamorphosis of Ubuluisiuzor community, said Ubuluisiuzor is one of the seven communities that constitute Ihiala two. Other communities, he said, include Okija, Orsumoghu, Azia, Mbosi, Isekke and Lilu respectively. Agbodike said contrary to insinuations and unhealthy propaganda by those he referred to as detractors in his constituency that Ubuluisiuzor has not felt government presence and projects, there was no community in the state that has not benefitted from Governor Willie Obiano’s Community Choose Your Project Initiative, a  platform communities have leveraged on to provide more infrastructure and developmental projects in their respective localities.

He also stated that as the lawmaker representing the constituency where Ubuluisiuzor belongs, he had ensured that each community had a touch of his constituency projects pointing out that he did most of his  projects in Ubuluisiuzor where he graded roads, renovated as well as sank water borehole facilities in the community to enable them to access potable water.

According to him, all the seven communities of Ihiala two constituency especially Ubuluisiuzor received electric transformers from the present administration as part of its rural electrification project. Yet some people in the constituency still cry foul of not benefitting from government projects and appointments, adding that any person who alleges dearth of social amenities in his community is an enemy of the Obiano administration.

The lawmaker therefore stated pointblank that Ubuluisiuzor was not being politically alienated or marginalised in the constituency as the community produced the leader of the legislative council of Ihiala local government area. He also recalled that an Ubuluisiuzor person has been the deputy chairman of Ihiala local government area and a host of other government positions and appointments stressing that the allegations of political inequity and inequality in Ihiala two constituency was baseless and unfounded. The lawmaker stated further that people from Ubuluisiuzor community enjoy his scholarship scheme known as Mmîlioma Education Foundation. He emphasized that he was currently building an abattoir together with water facility at Nkwo-Okija community market and has equally built another market at Ihite to replace the dilapidated structures in the market, noting that his constituency projects and programmes were the remote reason the people of Ubuluisiuzor, traditional rulers and president-generals of other six communities unanimously endorsed him for another term to represent the constituency at the state assembly.

Although he said he was elected ab initio to represent the constituency irrespective of some adversaries and antagonistic tendencies casting aspersions on Chief Willie Obiano’s administration, he however admonished his detractors to desist from spreading false information as he was not sectional in the execution of his constituency projects.
