The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, CP Echeng Echeng, has urged traditional rulers in Anambra state to use their positions to open channels of communication to their subjects in order to promote national interest and support the security agencies in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state.
The press statement released to journalists in Awka on Saturday by the Police spokesman DSP Ikenga Tochukwu has it that the CP made the plea on Friday when he visited the traditional ruler of Onitsha HRH Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, who is also the Chairman Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council in his palace at Onitsha.
The police boss also called for honest and patriotic involvement in identifying differences and prioritizing goals in order to develop deliberate plans in addressing challenges facing the state.
Responding, the traditional ruler warmly welcomed the CP and his entourage and assured the Police chief of their collaboration in enhancing public safety and peace.
In attendance were the palace Chief of Staff, Chikezie Ogbunike, the President General of Onitsha, DCP Peter Ozigi, ACP John Obuagnaka among others.
