Sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra state, Andrew Ayodele Kumapayi, has received the endorsement and blessings of His Royal Majesty, the traditional ruler of Awka, Dr. Obi Gibson Nwosu.
The royal blessings which came on the heels of the relentless efforts of the FRSC to internalise safety education in the state capital Awka and the entire Anambra, was one of the remote reasons the monarch felt it was most deserving that he gave his royal pronouncements and blessings on the activities of the FRSC in Anambra especially as it concerns taking safety education to the grassroots.
In accordance with the report of the visit to the royal palace of Awka kingdom by the road safety helmsman in Anambra as compiled by the Public Relations Officer of the commission in Anambra, Paschal Anigbo, “the sector commander FRSC Anambra State Sector Command, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, has today, Monday 10 February, 2020 paid a courtesy visit to the Eze Uzu II of Awka Kingdom, HRM Obi Dr. Gibson Nwosu at his palace, here in Awka.
“He was warmly received by His Royal Majesty, the Traditional Prime Minister and other Cabinet Chiefs.
“The visit is in tandem with the 2020 FRSC Corporate Strategic Goals, especially in the area of, ‘Broadening and Sustaining Stakeholders Engagement’.
“It was aimed at familiarizing, strengthening and promoting the existing cordial relationship between the people of Awka and the FRSC in Anambra State, while also advancing Stakeholders participation in Road Safety matters in the State.
“The Sector Commander, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, appreciated HRM Obi Dr. Gibson Nwosu for receiving him.
“He highlighted various achievements and challenges of the Command and pleaded with the Cabinet Chiefs to educate their subjects on the need to be responsible road users and also acquire Fire Extinguishers, even in their homes and adhere to other safety tips on fire prevention, as there is a disturbing increase in the rate of fire outbreaks.
“The Sector Commander also welcomed the Obi of Awka to partner with the FRSC in ensuring safer motoring environment for Anambra citizens.
“Responding, the Eze Uzu II of Awka Kingdom, HRM Obi Dr. Gibson Nwosu commended the Sector Commander, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi for the work done so far in ensuring safety of lives and property on Anambra roads.
“He gave an assurance, to sustain the existing cordial relationship between his palace and the FRSC.
“He also promised to partner with the Command in its efforts to reduce Road Traffic Crashes to the barest minimum and create a safer motoring environment in Anambra State.
“Consequently, the Obi of Awka presented his book titled, ‘Beckoned by Destiny’ to the Sector Commander.”
