Recently Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state gave a marching order to all his cabinet members to return to work or risk their appointments, as the elections were over and done with.

The said directive was informed by the urgent need to increase the state internally generated revenue to enable government to sustain the tempo of its development drive especially as government required more IGR to meet the demands of the new national minimum wage approved by the national assembly.

The Anambra State Head of Service Barr. Harry Uduh who spoke with journalists shortly after the state executive council meeting, said there was need to grow IGR in the state and that all hands must be on deck to ensure that all leakages were blocked.

He said the plethora of gigantic projects across the state underscored the importance of generating more funds to be able to meet the services of the state.

The Head of Service further disclosed the likelihood of oil revenue dwindling and that the present situation was most auspicious for revenue drive in Anambra state adding that every person under the employ of the state government must have the mindset to yield IGR for the state and anyone instrumental to any form of leakages would face a summary treatment.

Uduh however emphasized the need for workers to be productive as well as contribute their quota in growing internally generated revenue to enable government to respond proactively to their needs.

Meanwhile, the Head of Service of the Anambra State Civil Service also congratulated the executive governor Chief Willie Obiano on his 5th anniversary saying that the governor was more focused on the legacies he would bequeath Ndi-Anambra while urging the citizenry to continue to support and remain loyal to his administration.
