The League of Anambra Professionals (LAP) has congratulated newly elected Anambra senators, house of representatives and state house assembly members on their inauguration, assuring them of her support and cooperation in the collective efforts to make Anambra a modern and safe society.
In a statement by the LAP President, Mr Chijioke Okoli, SAN, and made available to the media in Lagos, LAP lauded the peaceful atmosphere under which they were elected and urged them to see their emergence and inauguration as opportunities to serve the people.
The statement read in part, ‘’We are delighted that you emerged under peaceful atmospheres in your various constituencies, a situation we note with great pride, as a sign that democracy is increasingly taking firm root in our state. It is therefore important that you do all within your legislative powers to improve the quality of life in our state.
“Now that party politics is in abeyance, let us all join hands to develop the Anambra agenda and pursue same vigorously.’’
LAP also drummed the support of the lawmakers for the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, stressing the need for cooperation especially from the Abuja lawmakers in order to sustain the development strides of the state.
While wishing them a fruitful tenure the statement indicated that LAP is prepared and willing to collaborate with the lawmakers on two of its flagship projects for the year — the Legal Aid Project and the One Anambra, One Agenda Summit.
