The National Executive of the National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS) was inaugurated in an epoch-making event which held in Awka the capital of Anambra State.
The grand making event which took place at the event hall of Kenneth Dike E-library, Awka witnessed the handover and swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected National Leadership. It also witnessed a scholarship award to five indigent students by the former National President.
A statement by the NUASS Director of Information, Ifesinachi Sabina Okonkwo, indicated that the event had in attendance distinguished accomplished Anambraians from all walks of life. They include His Excellency, Dr. Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra state ably represented by Engr. Ifeanyi Aniagoh (SSA to Governor on Youth Development and Digital Entrepreneurship, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Senator Elect Anambra South Senatorial District who was represented by Hon. Okoye Francis Akwaeke, the Royal Father of the day, Prophet Dr. Ramas Asuzu (Akajiofor na Nrị Kingdom).
Others are the Chairman of the occasion, Sir Jerry Nnubia, who is the state Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress Anambra state, Associate Prof. Obiora Arinze, former Dean School of Post Graduate Studies Igbariam Campus, Chief Hon Austin Chudi Anyaeji (Local Government Services Commission) President General Okija Town. The NUASS legal adviser, Barr. Charles Uzoma Dioha, Chief Okechukwu Akaeze Igbakwu among several others.
The high-point of the event was the award of scholarship by the outgoing National Executive led by Hon. Godwin Chibunna Echegwo to five indigent students. The outgoing President who initiated the scholarship award expressed his profound gratitude to Almighty God for making it a success and added that the benefactors were selected based on their high academic performance.
The outgoing executives Led by Hon. Godwin Echegwo handed over certificate of return and mantle of leadership to the new executives led by Rtn. Chibuike Obiwuzie.
At the event Comr. Jerry Nnubia spoke on Career Development. Barr. Charles Uzuoma Dioha the legal adviser to the union advised the new executives to show their capacity.
The incoming President, Chubuike Obiwuzie, promised to work for the advancement of the objectives of NUASS and craved for the support of Anambra students in Nigeria and in Diaspora to enable his Executive to achieve their set goals.
The event came to a blissful end with the Chairman’s closing remarks and prayers from the Vice Chairman of NUASS Board of Trustees, Hon. Ezeilo Frank.
