It was barely two weeks ago that a mysterious fire hit Mgbuka spare parts market Onitsha.
Just a few days ago, another explosion occurred at a welder’s workshop in Awka, killing the welder instantly and leaving three others in very critical conditions.
Another fire outbreak occurred in the early hours of today along upper iweka in Onitsha, following a petrol tanker explosion.
It was gathered that no life was lost and the men of the Anambra state fire service were on ground to fight the fire alongside the Federal Road Safety Commission, the police and other agencies.
In accordance with the situation report from the Federal Road Safety Commission, released by the sector commander in Anambra, Mr. Andrew Ayodele Kumapayi, the petrol tanker belonging to MRS fuel station caught fire not because it fell down but because it developed a mechanical fault.
The report has it that the driver parked the vehicle on discovering the fault but it exploded soon after while the driver raised the alarm. Meanwhile, the incident according to the report from FRSC, occurred about 2 :30 am today.
