Anambra Youths Hold Candle Light Procession For Dead Victims Of Police Brutality

Youths in Anambra state have held a candle light procession at the Doctor Alex Ekwueme Square Awka in solidarity with the ongoing call for a better Nigeria.

During the solemn event, the youths took turns to pray for the repose of sons and daughters of the country whom their untimely deaths in the hands of the disbanded SARS operatives have left vacuums in the lives of their families and friends.

They also used the medium to call on the government to urgently attend to their demands which are  anchored on reforming the country for a better living condition for all.

Priests including Reverend Father Jude Banabey were also on ground to pray and advise youths on the need to remain peaceful and look up to God for a total emancipation and turn around of events across the country.

The leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing in Anambra State, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, said the youths were agitating  against bad leadership, oppression and the unlawful killing of innocent citizens.

He cautioned the youths to remain peaceful and law abiding as well as resolute in the struggle for a better nation for all.

The candle light memorial night offered some family and friends of victims of police brutality the opportunity to pray for a peaceful repose of their loved ones even as they called on government to  urgently address their demands.
