Former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has publicly declared that the incumbent APC-led federal government is wicked and insensitive to the plight of Nigerian citizens.
Atiku said that Nigerians are suffering from the blight cast on them by the policies and programmes of the APC government; that the current leaders have reduced the polity to what he described as a small clique looting the nation’s treasury.
The PDP presidential aspirant who addressed party delegates at Geo-Gold hotel Awka on Wednesday, further explained that there was need to reclaim Nigeria from those he described as oligarchy, stressing that the nation’s economy was comatose and needed urgent surgical operations.
Atiku who spoke on general maladministration, current political structure, economy, security, welfare and unity, maintained that the aforestated challenges would be addressed immediately if PDP comes into office in 2019.
He said the Nigerian youth is the most affected as far as job creation is concerned, pointing out that about 12 million Nigerian youths are currently unemployed. He said that the statistics of unemployed Youths were the highest In the history of the nation.
According to him, Nigeria is yet to come out of recession and that the incumbent APC-led federal government has crashed the nation’s economy even as he also accused the APC government of being segregational and not representative in its policies and actions. He added that there was a dire need for an all-inclusive governance in the country which he said was provided for in the Nigerian constitution.
Atiku, who noted that the APC government anti-corruption crusade is a mirage, observed that the country is more corrupt at the moment as evident in the report of transparency international and that Nigeria is currently the capital of poverty as other African countries are ahead of Nigeria in terms of economic indicies.
Director-General Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization and two-time governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, in his remarks, stressed that Atiku Abubakar is the solution to Nigeria’s socioeconomic and political malady.
He said a vote for the former Vice President is a vote for the redemption of Nigeria from the grip of the APC oligarchy.
