APC, PDP, Labour Party Ward Chairmen In Awka Will Mobilise Votes For Soludo — Onuko Declares

By Raymond Ozoji, Awka

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Hon. Ossy Onuko has declared that no Awka indigene or resident will vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition political parties except the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Onuko, who is the founder and national convener of Soludo Ambassadors, said Soludo’s re-election in 2025 would be what he described as political ecumenism because all the opposition elements especially the APC, PDP and Labour Party in the state capital would all cast their votes for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo because they have all settled for him.

Onuko, who spoke exclusively with our reporter, said he is an indigene of Awka and he knows and equally understands the political culture of his people. That as a grassroots mobiliser, he knows too well that Awka people are solidly behind the present administration because it is changing the face of Awka with infrastructures and social amenities.

He said, “Soludo has done so well such that our people have unanimously agreed that even one vote will not be missing in our place.”

Onuko noted that following the ongoing construction works in Awka viz ongoing construction of roads, new governor’s lodge, solution fun city, ongoing estate development, construction of Awka shopping mall, construction of technology hub in Awka, to mention a few of developmental projects Awka is currently benefiting from the state government, Soludo has absolutely nothing to worry about as far as Awka is concerned. That Awka is seriously rooting for Soludo’s re-election and nothing can change it.

Onuko said in the past, Awka indigenes and residents used to beg sitting governors for developmental projects in the capital city which he said usually fell on deaf ears. But Soludo, according to him, didn’t wait for Awka people to come and beg him instead he embarked on his disruptive change mantra and began to recreate and rebuild a new Awka with facilities and social amenities.

He said that it was in profound gratitude and appreciation of Soludo’s good works in Awka that the people collectively resolved that there is no space for other political parties in their domain come 2025. That they should go elsewhere to canvass for votes because Awka people are giving Soludo 100% votes.

According to him, “They should find other places to go and leave Awka. We have agreed as a community to give Soludo 100% support and not even one vote will be lost.”

He said it is only ingrates and saboteurs that would vote any other person apart from Soludo even as he disclosed too that the ward chairmen of the APC, PDP and Labour Party in Awka would all mobilise and vote for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the next gubernatorial election.

He said, “APC, PDP and Labour Party ward chairmen will all mobilise and vote for Soludo massively in 2025 because they are enjoying the dividends of democracy and they are happy.

“Soludo’s vision for Anambra State cuts across political parties and his re-election has nothing to do with political party affiliations. His re-election will be a kind of political ecumenism as all the political parties have jointly agreed that Soludo should continue with his good works.”
