At 008 & 009 Notre Dame, Abatete, thugs led by one Ifeanyi Ibezi, got there, attacked dispersed voters, and made away with the ballot boxes.
At PUs 028 & 029 Halls 1&2 Obinagu Abatete ballot papers were already thumb printed and stuffed in boxes. APGA and other agents protested, but were threatened and no voting was being done.
At PU 035 Uruoji Hall, Ezimuku Agbaja, no accreditation, no voting and materials were not there at all.
At PU 016, Uruani hall thugs attacked voters shooting sporadically, and got corps members left behind to thumb-print the ballot Papers.
At PU17 Odida Pri. Sch, no accreditation, no voting because BVAS machines were faulty. Manual rejected. A supervisor was attacked, abducted & later freed.
At PUs 001 & 002, Oshana hall Umunakwa, voting didn’t start as at 12noon because police personnel were not there.
At PU025 and PU026 Ilo Omalacha Enu Ogbu Abatete, only one booklet was brought whereas the voters strength is over 600.
So, voters were being disenfranchised.
At PU018 , PU019 Ire Ogbu, & PU 006 Chukwurah Pri. Sch. BVAS machines were faulty, so voters rejected manual voting.
At PUs 030 & 031 Omaliko Ofia1 &2, thugs led by APC supporters attacked people with gunshots and made away with ballot boxes.
At PU 013 Amora hall voters were dispersed. APGA agent was beaten, abducted and the ballot boxes snatched by Ifeanyi Ibezi’s group.
APC chieftain Ifeanyi Ibezi hijacked INEC materials and staff to his house in Abatete. Security agents surrounded his house but they locked themselves in.
Many Voters Disenfranchised In Awka-North, South
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have arrived Community Primary Secondary School, Umueze, Isuoaniocha, Awka North LGA from Achalla, the LGA’s headquarters.
Protest from the Nigeria Police team attached to the electoral body of the LGA over the non-payment of their allowance was given as the reason for the late arrival of electoral materials.
Community Primary Secondary School, Umueze, Isuaniocha, besides having a polling unit serves as the Registration Area Centre (RAC) for all the polling units in Isuaniocha and Mgbakwu towns both in Awka North LGA.
INEC Corps member ad-hoc staff who slept inside the primary school were demanding their allowance before discharging their duty.
Also, accreditation has commenced at Community Primary School, Umueze, Isuoaniocha, Awka North LGA. At Umuokpu Ward, polling unit 004 Awka-south, many voters were defranchized because of network issue. Voters left disappointed without casting their votes.
As at 5:33 pm today voting was still ongoing at Okpuno and over 1000 voters were yet to cast their votes.
