Chieftain of the Labour Party who currently functions as Coordinator and Director-General Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organization in Anambra state, Chief Joemartins Uzodike, has said that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is dead, stressing that APGA gave up the ghost since Peter Obi left the party many years ago.
Uzodike, who served under Peter Obi as Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, said Labour Party was prepared for the 2023 national elections especially in Anambra state, where it is currently carrying out grassroots sensitisation to ensure that candidates of the party swept the polls.
He said contrary to insinuations that Labour Party did not exist or had no structures in Anambra state, Uzodike who spoke with our correspondent exclusively, maintained that APGA was lifeless and as such could not withstand the domineering force of Labour Party, judging from the recognition and acceptance the party had garnered across Nigeria.
Uzodike, who was also Information Commissioner and Political Adviser during Ex-Governor Willie Obiano’s regime, told our correspondent that Labour Party was in good stead for the elections and that the party had made a lot of outreaches targeted at conquering elective seats in the coming elections.
He said, “I can assure you that if there is anything less than 100% votes for Labour Party in Anambra state, then you know that there is something wrong somewhere.
“The churches have started and aggressive voter education is going on now in Anambra. The Justice Development and Peace Commission has also joined the campaign on voter education. So different arms of the people are educating the masses on the need to vote in candidates of Labour Party.”
The Peter Obi Campaign DG in Anambra noted that irrespective of the fact that election posters and billboards belonging to Labour Party were allegedly being destroyed in the state, he said no opposition elements could stop the force and velocity the party is coming with because he believes it is Labour Party all the way this time.
According to him, “APGA is dead. APGA is a dead soul. Peter Obi was the person who started APGA and he has left APGA for good.”
