The national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Ozomkpu Victor Ike Oye is to bid his 27-year-old daughter Mrs. Chinenye Barbara Amaechi farewell on Friday August 2nd, 2019 as she begins her journey to eternity.
Amawbia, the country home of the chairman in Awka-South local government area of Anambra state, has continued to host a steady stream flow of sympathisers and condolence visitors who thronged his residence to mourn with him since the demise of his daughter.
Efforts made by our correspondent to speak with the national chairman of APGA in his residence during the condolence visit of the members of the Anambra State House of Assembly was unsuccessful as one of his security aides made it impossible.
But the Speaker of the House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor who spoke with our correspondent shortly after the lawmakers’ condolence visit to the national chairman, said the lawmakers came to condole with the national chairman on the death of his lovely daughter Mrs. Chinenye Amaechi.
He described her death as painful especially as she was in her prime stressing that the father of the deceased was not only the national chairman of APGA, he was also a stakeholder in Anambra politics and the nation at large.
The Speaker pointed out that the 7th assembly came to commiserate with Chief Victor Oye and his entire family in their moment of grief emphasising that death was a natural call which every one would answer at the fullness of time.
He said the prayer of the 7th assembly was that God would receive the soul of Mrs. Chinenye Amaechi in heaven and also grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss noting that her untimely death was quite painful even though he said that in all situations, one must be thankful to God because he giveth and taketh.
Okafor opined that members of the 7th state assembly would continue to support Chief Oye and his entire family in their prayers and supplications to God as well as join in the funeral ceremonies to pay final homage to the departed amazon.
Meanwhile, the remains of the daughter of the APGA national chairman would be brought to her father’s compound at Amawbia on Thursday August 1st for prayer sessions while she would be buried at her husband’s home Umuakali Obodo, Ahiara-Ahiazu Mbaise in Imo state on Friday August 2nd.
