The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mazi Ejimofor Opara has observed that 22 years after, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is yet to complete her national secretariat in Abuja.

The 34-year-old national officer of APGA who made the observation while speaking exclusively with our correspondent in Awka, said APGA has become the cynosure of other political parties in Nigeria.

Ejimofor, who was the former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on New Media, said as it stands in Nigeria today, APGA is the first and only political party with a magnificent edifice as national secretariat in Abuja coupled with another gigantic 5-storey building in Awka as regional headquarters for the Southeast region.

He said that the PDP was in power for 16 years and till date they have raised over N18 billion to build a national headquarters in Abuja which he said they were yet to complete.

Ejimofor said the PDP was the first political party in the post-military era in Nigeria and they ruled the country for 16 years; that within the period it held sway there were fund-raising and over N18 billion was raised just to build a national headquarters in Abuja but for more than 22 years, the building is still in her skeletal form.

He said the PDP has not been able to build a monumental edifice that can really show that the party is a party of forward thinking people. The APGA national publicity secretary maintained that till date, the PDP national secretariat in Abuja is still an uncompleted building.

The APGA scribe said for the All Progressives Congress(APC) which he described as a union of other political parties; he said the APC has no monument yet to refer to as her national office except for rented apartments like other political parties.

He said APGA remains the only political party in Nigeria to acquire as well as own and build in her name a national headquarters in Abuja and equally the first political party to acquire, own and build a regional headquarters for herself, describing them as enduring legacies.

According to him, “If APGA continues at this pace where we already have a regional headquarters for the Southeast and probably before the end of our own National Working Committee, we maybe talking about another regional headquarters in the North, Southwest and the rest of the country.”

He however said that APGA is the wealthiest political party in Nigeria because it owns all its physical structures and doesn’t pay rents like other political parties in the country, adding that APGA will be the first political party in Nigeria to float a cooperative society for her members because they are business minded and very progressive.
