Former Nigeria’s Vice-President and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has appointed former governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, as Director-General of his campaign.
The Atiku Media Office made this known in a statement in Abuja on Monday.
According to the statement, Daniel’s experiences both in politics and the private sector will have bearing in Atiku’s campaign for president in 2019.
It added that other appointments into the campaign team would be announced when the leadership of the campaign resumes work.
Daniel was two-term governor of Ogun between 2003 and 2011 with extensive network within the PDP.
Before his emergence as governor, Daniel was the Chief Executive Officer of a leading engineering company in the country.
