Governor M. A. Abubakar has signed the 2018 Appropriation Bill into law.
The event which happened at Government House has the full cabinet in attendance.
A breakdown of the document showed a total budget of N167B with 40% going to Recurrent Expenditure and 60% to Capital Expenditure. In line with his mantra to educate and improve the quality of lives in the state; the Education Sector got the biggest portion of 19.22% closely followed by the Health sector with 15.23%
Furthermore, Gov. Abubakar said this year, his administration will focus on completing all existing road and ongoing projects in the state. He reiterated his resolve not to leave any uncompleted project.
Governor Abubakar also added that the budget will ensure economic diversification as agriculture, solid mineral development as well as Tourism has been given priority.
Governor Abubakar thanked the good people of Bauchi state, saying that the dividends of democracy will be felt in all the nooks and crannies of the state. He also said that his administration’s consistency in allocating a huge chunk of the budget to education and health (above the Abuja declaration of 15%) has yielded much positive results.
