... declines press interview
Raymond Ozoji, Awka
Former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain and wife of the late ikemba, Chief Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, appears to be uncertain of her chances to clinch the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the party’s forthcoming primary election.
Bianca’s declaration to contest for the Anambra-south senatorial seat in the 2019 general elections had sent cold shivers down the spine of many justling for the same position.
But her countenance shortly after Governor Willie Obiano read the riot act to all aspirants on the platform of the party at Finotel Awka during the 2018 retreat for contestants, leaves much to be desired especially with the opening of can of worms by senator Victor Umeh who refreshed her mind concerning the role she played in betraying the party in 2013.
From all indications, the coast is no longer clear following Governor Obiano’s public declaration at Finotel Awka that he would not have a hand in the primary elections, emphasising that those calling him on the phone and those seeking his backing over the party’s tickets for various elective positions should have a rethink and go to the people to test their elective value.
When our correspondent accosted the former beauty queen at Finotel Awka shortly after the retreat to ascertain her take on Governor Obiano’s position, she reluctantly said she was not in the right frame of mind to speak to the press until after the primaries.
