Stanley Chibunna a.k.a Funny Bone has lambasted Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state, saying in spite of having put Anambra state on local and international pedestal, he has not been encouraged by the governor in any way.
Funny Bone who spoke with our correspondent at Stanel Gas Station Awka during a concert on Wednesday night, said the Imo and Delta State Governments encouraged talents but the reverse seemed to be the case in his home state Anambra.
He said, “This is my first time of performing in Awka. I am a comedian from Anambra state, one who has put the state on the map both locally and internationally.
I make bold to say that I have not been encouraged in any way by the state government, the governor or by any commissioner alive and it is annoying because we only see people who don’t invest a dime of their money in putting the image of the state in the right frame, working for the government.
“It’s high time the governor began to ask questions about youths of the state who use their hard-earned money and fame to put Anambra state on the world map. That’s what Delta does. That’s what Imo does. But here, it’s all about lobbying. You just lobby your way through to get close to the governor and you get appointed. That’s it.”
The Amichi Nnewi-South born ace comedian further asked what those appointed into various offices have done in concrete terms to ameliorate the conditions of youths and empower them.
He therefore noted that he could mention about 10 youngsters of Anambra origin that he has mentored and given platforms to shine to stardom, saying that all those that the governor has appointed into various positions should mention those they have given platforms to discover and redeem themselves from poverty and abject penury.
Funny Bone however maintained that untill the state government began to appreciate those who had indeed invested their resources in human capital development, the state would continue to be saturated with appointees not interested in the welfare and well-being of the people.
