Chief Executive Officer of Right Health Pharmaceutical Company and member representing Anambra-East state constituency in the legislature, Hon. Obinna Chris Emeneka, has said that Governor Willie Obiano’s agricultural initiatives and innovations will prevent hunger as enforcement on Covid19 lockdown persists in the state.

Emeneka who stated this in an interview, observed that the lockdown has taken a toll on the people but urged them to find respite in the governor’s food security programme aimed at ameliorating the hardship brought by the COVID-19 epidemic. He therefore stressed that the governor was doing everything humanly possible to cushion the effects of hunger on the citizens.

He said, “The governor has mapped out 2000 hectres of land for massive food cultivation. He also provided tractors for mechanised farming. The idea is to cushion the effects of hunger of this COVID-19 sit-at-home and lockdowns on the people.”

The lawmaker described state government’s efforts in preventing the scourge of coronavirus as wonderful steps and strategies to contain the virus as well as to cushion the untold hardship meted out to citizens of the state  as a result of the lockdown through stimulus packages.

Emeneka also informed that he embarked on an inspection visit to Chazmax Pharmaceutical Company to ascertain the level of preparedness of the company to produce covid19 prevention drugs of which his company, Right Health Pharmacy, signed a N20 million Memorandum of Understanding for the production of the drugs.

According to him, “The visit is in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on the 2nd of April between my pharmaceutical company and Chazmax Pharmaceauticals to produce Chroloquine phosphate and supply Arzithromycin and Zinc Sulphate for the management of Covid-19 in Anambra state.”

He expressed satisfaction at the state of facilities he met on ground during the inspection tour, noting that the level of preparedness of Chazmax Pharmaceuticals showed that they will keep to the terms and conditions of the MOU signed for the production and supply of the Covid19 prevention drugs.

The lawmaker also noted that the provision of the drugs would to a large extent complement Governor Willie Obiano’s laudable efforts in fighting the scourge of coronavirus in Anambra state.
