The Federal Government has declared Monday as a public holiday to mark the 2019 Eid-ul-Maulud, the birthday of Prophet Muhammed.
In a statement in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, through the ministry’s spokesman, Mohammed Manga, congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion. He enjoined them to live within the virtues and teachings of the prophet, which he said are love, courage and perseverance, adding that doing so would guarantee peace and security in the country.
He said, “With the immense potential the country is endowed with and its human and natural resources, if tapped and properly utilised, Nigeria will sooner than later join the league of developed nations.
“With love, commitment, self-sacrifice, patience and patriotism, we will certainly, build a greater Nigeria.”
