… say Victor Oye must resign
Raymond Ozoji, Awka
Some Anambra citizens under the auspices of Aggrieved APGA Aspirants (AAA) have jointly said that Governor Willie Obiano may receive what they termed baptism of fire during the march 9th state house of assembly elections in the state if he declines meeting the agreement he reached with aggrieved members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The aggrieved members pointed out that the February 23rd national assembly elections where APGA had an abysmally poor outing was a tip of the iceberg; that the forthcoming state house of assembly elections would witness a Tsunami should the governor exhibit blatant refusal of fulfilling his portion of the agreement he had with them.
The group made their position known at a news briefing held at Orpet Petrol Station Awka on Thursday. Chairman of the Aggrieved APGA Aspirants Chief Owelle Mbaso disclosed that they were about four hundred members that were allegedly siphoned of hundreds of millions of naira by APGA through purchase of various forms prior to APGA primaries. He emphasized that the national chairman of the party Chief Victor Ike Oye should without further delay refund all the money allegedly siphoned from them and vacate the office as his continued stay posed dire consequences for APGA.
Mbaso stressed that APGA was about to die in the hands of foreigners and that the national chairman of the party has failed woefully and must resign forthwith as he does not have the capacity and capability to pilot the affairs of the party. He added that last year, the aggrieved members had a parley with the state governor where he agreed to meet their demands.
He equally alleged that some cabals within the government circle seemed to be playing the drum for the governor to dance to its ryhthm thereby urging him to breach the agreement he had with them.
They maintained that the governor was aware of the grave consequences of not meeting their demands especially as it concerns the state house of assembly elections slated for march 9th this year even as he made it clear that the group had unanimously taken a stand that Chief Victor Ike Oye must resign and leave.
Also speaking, Dr.Charles Ebulue, a member of the Anambra State Reconciliation Committee Implementation, corroborated what the chairman said, pointing out that there was an agreement Governor Willie Obiano reached with the aggrieved members on how best APGA would win elections but they were astonished that the said agreement was not adhered to. He attributed this to the woeful failure of the party in the just concluded national assembly elections. He stressed that the governor knows the implications of having APGA as minority in the state house of assembly.
