FRSC To Host Quiz Competition For Schools In Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Commission says preparations are in top gear for the hosting of the grand finale of quiz competition for secondary schools in Anambra state on Saturday 24th November, 2018 at the command headquarters Awka, Anambra state.
Sector Commander of the commission in the state Mr. Sunday Michael Ajayi disclosed this to journalists in Awka on Wednesday.
He said the quiz competition is aimed at inculcating safety ideals and knowledge in the students so that they can go into the future accepting the global best practices on road safety ideals.
Ajayi also described the quiz contest as another level of awareness creation for students in secondary schools on road safety tips adding that they have done the preliminaries for the quiz competition at the six unit commands across Anambra state and those who scaled through would proceed to the command headquarters Awka on Saturday 24th November, 2018 for the finals of the quiz contest.
He added that the first, second and third position respectively would represent Anambra state at the zonal contest next year which will also be hosted by the state command of the FRSC in Anambra state.
According to him, the schools have been duly informed  alongside stakeholders such as the Ministry of Basic Education, Education Management Board, the Special Marshall, Ministry of Youth Enterpreneurship and Creative Economy and a host of others emphasising that the Ministry of Basic Education has been very instrumental to the successes they have recorded in schools.
He said that the students would be led to the command headquarters in Awka by the unit commanders and school representatives and that the scope of the quiz competition covers road safety and general knowledge just as he pointed out that apart from the quiz contest, the commission also intends to delve into other programmes for school children in Anambra state such as the road safety clubs, stakeholders collaboration with the school proprietors and principals.
The sector commander noted that the commission was working closely with the Ministry of Basic Education as well as schools in the state to achieve the best for students in Anambra.
