Full-time: Serbia 1-2 Switzerland

Switzerland have come from behind and taken all three points thanks to Shaqiri’s breakaway goal in the last minute! That didn’t look likely at half-time, when Serbia were leading 1-0 and manifestly superior, the UK Guardian reported.

Xhaka struck a superb equaliser but Serbia were then denied a clear penalty for a foul on Mitrovic. Chances came and went at both ends. And then Shaqiri showed skill and composure to deliver a dramatic late twist. Serbia will have to beat Brazil in their last match to progress! Switzerland face Costa Rica knowing a draw will be enough for them.
