Ace Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has been warned to desist from parading himself as the Chief Executive Officer of a new online transport model known as Mr. Taxi.
The warning came following the actor’s posts on his Instagram page and some other social media platforms that he was the brain behind the birth of Mr.Taxi.
Addressing journalists at a press conference at De Santos Hotel Awka at the weekend, the Chief Executive Officer of Mr.Taxi Kelechi Freeman Ukadike said Jim Iyke has nothing to do with the transport company, noting that his actions on the social media could be regarded as impersonation.
Ukadike also disclosed that the actor was only invited as a Brand Ambassador of Mr.Taxi ab initio but he was perplexed when he saw the actor’s several posts on social media platforms claiming that he was the CEO of the transport outfit.
He said he single-handedly registered Mr.Taxi with the Corporate Affairs Commission and obtained certificate of ownership as the Chief Executive Officer of the transport company and could not fathom the motive behind the actor’s incessant parade of himself as the company’s CEO.
Ukadike however sought the platform of the press conference to call Jim Iyke to order and to equally warn him from further parading himself as a member of the company as the organization would not hesitate to institute legal actions against him if he flouts the warning.
Contributing to discussions during the news briefing, the APP Developer Mr. Austin Nnaemeka Soundmind said he conceived the whole idea of Mr.Taxi and brought it to limelight stressing that the patent belonged to him.
He however did a disclaimer saying that Jim Iyke was not a partner neither was he the CEO of the online transport company at any point in time and that the company completely dissociated itself from the false information Jim Iyke was sending to members of the public via social media platforms.
He further explained that Mr.Taxi was a new innovation in the Southeast and South South respectively which according to him was invented to meet the basic transport needs of all social strata pointing out that the scheme is cheap and affordable.
According to him, it is an online transportation scheme that has come to fill the gap created by the ban on commercial motorcycles called Okada in local parlance.
He said the online transport scheme would create over five hundred thousand jobs and that the scheme has been launched in Awka the Anambra state capital from whence it would spread to other states in the southeast and south south zones to ease transportation palaver.
