A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the chairman, Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN), in Anambra State, Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo, has said he is competent and qualified to be appointed Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari. This, according to him, is because of his years of immense contributions to the growth of the party since the days of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), where he has been working with the likes of Dr. Chris Ngige, the party National Auditor, Chief George Mohagalu among other party faithful in Anambra state.
Chief Onunkwor, who spoke to newsmen during a presentation of wheelchair to a physically challenge person, one Mallam Nasiru Ibrahim, at the popular Arroma junction Awka, the Anambra state capital, on Thursday also said that there was need for President Buhari to appoint old timers that know and have what it takes to maintain a political party.
According to him, “I deserve to be honoured with a ministerial appointment as a committed member who has served the party diligently and with distinction since the inception of democracy in 1999 with all my strength.
“As a well known philantropist, I believe that I am very well equipped with the knowledge, experience and the integrity needed to be part of the next level agenda.”
The former APC aspirant in 2017 Anambra governorship election also advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to re-appoint ministers that have not performed well in their ministries.
He equally advised the President to always consult state governments before the appointment of ministers.
