I Don’t Blow My Trumpet, Says Aspirant For Aguata Constituency

Raymond Ozoji, Awka

Chief Godwin Ezeno, house of assembly aspirant for Aguata one state constituency in the forthcoming general elections has said he is not in the habit of making his philanthropy and community development projects subject of publicity as they are not campaign tools.

Although he said he was not a money-bag, he noted that had been able to make positive impacts in his community with his meagre resources.

Speaking to journalists at St.Joseph catholic church Amaesi, Aguata local government area where he launched his grassroots football competition on Thursday, Ezeno said he was in politics to do things differently especially as it concerned Aguata one state constituency where he plans to launch a sports fiesta aimed at engaging youths in the constituency meaningfully, if elected in 2019.

He said politics was not a do-or-die affair but an avenue to provide amenities that would make life worth living for the generality of the masses through result-oriented political representation at all levels of governance and public administration.

Ezeno who told journalists shortly after the opening ceremonies of his Aguata one soccer competition, that though he did not intend to sound judgemental in the assessment of the performance of the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency at the state assembly, as he believes that every leader has his workplan, he assured of a remarkable difference in political representation if given the mandate to represent them.

He therefore described youths as the pillar and bedrock of national development adding that if the younger generations were meaningfully engaged and their youthful energy properly harnessed, there would be a significant reduction in the rate of criminal tendencies across the country.

The house of assembly aspirant further explained that apart from the football competition, he would also launch more youth enhancement schemes in the constituency in order to provide better life for them adding that youths are the leaders of tomorrow.

He however expressed confidence that the people of Aguata one state constituency would support his aspiration to the Anambra State Houe of Assembly where he intends to work in harmony with other lawmakers to further attract government presence to the constituency.
