I Don’t Want To Be Governor — STANEL

Raymond Ozoji, Awka
Stanley Uzochukwu, owner of STANEL Petroleum in Anambra state, has said he is not interested in becoming a governor, that his interest lies in human resource development.
Uzochukwu who stated this while fielding questions from journalists at his ultramodern gas station in Awka, venue of a resource programme organised by him at the weekend, said his burning desire was to see a generation of young men and women with creative acumen on how to learn through mentorships to attain financial independence.
He said, “I am not a politician and do not intend to be one. I am basically interested in imparting in young people and making a mark in my generation.
“I feel very fulfilled seeing the young people going after their dreams resolutely.”
He said there seemed to be a gap and there was need to begin to mentor young people because he believed that they needed direction.
The oil magnate also stressed the dire need for young people to uphold captains of industries and other successful individuals in the society who amassed wealth through genuine hard work devoid of fraud as their role models.
According to him, “A lot of young people had opportunities to access business, access wisdom and a host of other invaluable advice from resource persons who have gone through the vicissitudes of life to attain success.”
Uzochukwu equally observed that the Anambra State Government has supported businesses.  He recalled that before the advent of the present state government,  the state was insecure but the security architecture put in place by Governor Willie Obiano has enabled him to operate a 24 hours service in his petroleum station.
STANEL however admonished youths to hold on to God, be hard-working, value-oriented as well as look for a mentor for positive direction in life.
The rumour was rife in Anambra that Mr Uzochukwu was eyeing the governorship position in the state.
