Engr. Dominic Okafor, an aspirant for Aguata Federal Constituency, has said that his ambition to the Federal House of Representatives is not for personal aggrandisement.
He stated this at the weekend while responding to questions from newsmen on his aspiration shortly after his expression of interest to contest in the 2019 general elections at the APGA secretariat Awka.
Okafor stated that his ambition was a call to service to change as well as remodel the minds of youths of Aguata federal constituency to dissuade them from the idea of travelling to Malaysia and other countries to become over-night millionaires.
He said if elected, he would use his position to inculcate into youths the virtues of diligence, hard work and sustainable wealth adding that youths were future leaders and they deserved good mentoring.
The engineer of international reckoning further explained that he would raise the bar of political representation in Aguata federal constituency noting that a lot of developmental issues required priority attention in the area.
Although he said it was not his responsibility to enumerate his philanthropy and community development schemes in Aguata local government area, he noted that the people of the constituency could attest to his role in the development of the area.
He also took cognisance of the fact that erosion menace was a major challenge to Aguata federal constituency, adding that his emergence in the green chambers would usher in significant impact in addressing ecological problems in the area.
Okafor also mentioned acute unemployment in Aguata council area as another problematic issue begging for urgent remedial actions pointing out that if given the chance to represent Aguata federal constituency in the green chambers come 2019, he would make a remarkable difference by ensuring that democratic dividends trickled down to the remotest part of the constituency.
