Raymond Ozoji, Awka
Senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party for Anambra-central senatorial district in the forthcoming 2019 electoral contest Barr.Tony Chukwuelue has expressed unflinching confidence that he is more qualified and more competent to represent the people of Anambra-central at the Red Chambers than his co-contestants.
The legal luminary of twenty-seven years standing, said some of the people that have been in the system for so long a time have actually not delivered on their electoral promises neither have they met the expectations of the people of Anambra-central senatorial district.
Chukwuelue who made this known to journalists at his campaign office in Awka on Tuesday while reeling out the remote reasons why he is in the race, explained further that the people of Anambra-central senatorial zone were in a hurry to send those he described as gladiators packing from the system because according to him, they were tenants that should be shown the exit door.
He said that the constituents of Anambra-central senatorial zone needed someone with fresh ideas to redeem the zone from political retardation even as he emphasized also that the people of the zone required somebody that would put Anambra-central on the map of first-class performance in national assembly assignments.
According to the SDP senatorial candidate, those who have been foisting themselves on the people have lost the credibility and goodwill to continue serving the people of Anambra-central because they have not delivered, pointing out that wasting three years in litigation was a monumental tragedy for the senatorial district.
Chukwuelue said, “I recall that at a time people like Chief Emeka Anyaoku former commonwealth secretary-general was shouting; was almost crying asking for a way out of the logjam created by these parties. So I can tell you our people are looking for a credible alternative. I stand to be that credible alternative …” He added that come February 16, 2019, the people of Anambra-central will see the vision and the wisdom to elect him as the next senator and they will have nothing to regret taking the collective decision to bestow their mandate on him for a positive change in political representation.
