Chief  Executive Officer  of Obinwugo Farms Limited, Mr Emeka Obinwugo, has commended Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra  State for his support to private sector operators for the good of all in the state.

Obinwugo made the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Awka yesterday.
He urged other state governments in the country  to  borrow a leaf from Anambra State on how to promote public private partnership for the common good of their citizens.

Obinwugo said that Anambra state government under Obiano’s leadership was  a model of how the private sector and the government could work in close collaboration for the good of all.

Obinwugo, a native  of Umuoji, Idemmili North Local Government Area of Anambra, said he responded to the call of Think Home Philosophy of Anambra government and abandoned his law practice.

“I gave up my law pursuit to set up a foods company in Nnewi in response to Obiano’s call to invest at home particularly in agricultural and industrial development.

“I am very happy to heed to the call and it has enabled me to produce the first two Anambra tea brands in the Southeast geopolitical zone, its amazing,” he said.

Obinwugo said that Obiano  provided  the seed money with which he began the enterprise through the Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA), and it has  resulted in the new famous Anambra Tea.

“The tea names are Ijele Hibiscus Tea and Ijele Lemon Tea, currently they are sold in the market and plans are underway to give it a huge publicity,” he said.
Obinwugo said that efforts were being made to seek assistance from government to get the tea brands to some international retail chain shops in Nigeria.
He said that the company had secured approval from  the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Obinwugo  appealed to government agencies like Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) to devise a strategy to export the product to West African sub-region, Europe, North America and Asia.

He urged the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment as well as the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Wealth Creation to partner with the company to create huge awareness about the product.
