It’s An Aberration To Decide For Obiano Who Becomes Dunukofia TC Chairman — Ezeudu

Raymond Ozoji, Awka

The Chief Whip of the 7th legislature of Anambra state and lawmaker representing Dunukofia state constituency Hon. Lawrence Chukwuweike Ezeudu says it is an aberration for anyone to decide for Governor Willie Obiano who becomes Dunukofia local government transition committee chairman.

Ezeudu stated this during an interview with our correspondent at Cheleku hotel Amawbia Awka-South local government area of Anambra state.

He said that the House of Assembly lacked the powers to make such decision and that it was the exclusive right of the governor to make such nominations.

The lawmaker further explained that the House of Assembly reverted into electoral college to either confirm or reject the appointed nominees as submitted by the executive arm.

According to him, “The House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Hon. Emeka Patrick Chinweze as transition committee chairman of Dunukofia. His nomination letter was presented to the House of Assembly by the governor of Anambra state.

“I am not the Executive Governor of Anambra state neither am I the adviser of His Excellency. So attributing championing of a cause which is an exclusive right to His Excellency is an insult and an aberration to the office of the governor.

“I make bold to say that I know the limits of my powers as a legislator and I cannot act beyond those powers,” Ezeudu stated.

The lawmaker however tasked the new chairman of the local government to carry on with the legacies of his predecessors as well as surpass them in his efforts to ensure and engender grassroot development.
