Raymond Ozoji, Awka
Dr. Chinedu Ekwealor, Anambra-North senatorial aspirant  in the 2019 general elections has said that he would facilitate the abolition of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB ) if elected into the national assembly.
He accused JAMB of destroying the future of Nigerian youths alleging further that the body has frustrated many people into abandoning their educational pursuits for greener pastures in Malaysia , India , South- Africa and a host of other countries .
Ekwealor who spoke with journalists at Finotel Awka on Thursday, maintained that JAMB must be removed from the system to enable Nigerian youths access university education without hinderance.
The senatorial aspirant who has a Ph.D in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies from South-Africa, observed that every year over 2 million Nigerian youths apply to go to university through JAMB but Nigerian universities have about 600,000 carring capacity.
He noted that under such circumstance the strategy adopted by JAMB was to frustrate people out and render them disillusioned with no other option but engage in social vices inimical to ther future.
Ekwealor emphasized that JAMB was currently serving as a blockage as well as making Nigerian youths stranded thereby seeking better life in other African and Asian countries adding that the current obstacles facing Nigerians were the ones created in the national assembly.
He said if elected into the Red Chambers in 2019, he would request that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB be removed forthwith as it is no longer serving the interest of Nigerians even as he posited that he would also move for the establishment of technical and vocational institutions across the country for training and grooming of Nigerian youths with requisite skills for national development.
