Nobody Can Stop Soludo From Getting Second Term — Jude Emecheta

By Raymond Ozoji, Awka
Former Managing Director of the Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) Dr. Jude Okechukwu Emecheta, has stated in very strong terms that nobody can stop Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo from getting a second term in office.
The former ANSAA MD who spoke exclusively with this reporter in Awka, said apart from Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige, Soludo is another Anambra governor who has mesmerized the citizenry with very outstanding performance in his first term.
Emecheta said he has been in the state and could perfectly X-ray all the governors that have governed Anambra State. That amongst the governors, only Professor Soludo stands out as the best amongst them judging from his achievements in just 18 months in office.
He said he was in Anambra State when Peter Obi was governor and could recall vividly that ex-governor Peter Obi didn’t do anything in his first tenure which he said made the late Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu to almost truncate his second term ambition but for the timely intervention of intercessors.
Emecheta stressed that should Governor Soludo sustain the tempo of infrastructural development already established in his first term, then his second term is already a done deal because he is delivering the dividends of good governance to the people of Anambra State.
Emecheta, who emphasized that it was not about campaigns of calumny and unnecessary castigations, said Soludo’s good works will speak and campaign vigorously for him because he is meeting the wishes and expectations of Ndi-Anambra.
Emecheta said, “I was in Anambra during Peter Obi’s first tenure. I also saw his second tenure. Peter Obi did more of the work in his second tenure not in his first tenure.
“Remember that Ikemba Ojukwu said Peter Obi was not going back for a second term because he didn’t do well in his first term and already anointed Emeka Etiaba (SAN). Then people started rallying round him and begged Ikemba Ojukwu for Peter Obi to be allowed second term.
“I can tell you comfortably that the only person who made an impact in his first tenure is Chris Ngige as much as Soludo did because Ngige came on board and faced infrastructure head-on, which Soludo is doing right now.
“Soludo is only doing 18 months for now and he is already leaving some indelible impressions.”
The astute politician observed that for the very first time, schools are hiring teachers, that before the Soludo administration came on board, schools in Anambra State lacked teachers.
He also said that the present state government is rehabilitating and renovating over 200 health facilities across the state to enable access to quality comprehensive healthcare services especially in the rural areas.
According to him, 5000 youths were also empowered by Governor Soludo for them to do something meaningful with their lives. He said that the governor is placing young people in leadership positions as evident in ACTDA MD, ARTMA MD, the ICT Agency MD and some others thereby planning for tomorrow.
