Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state will on Sunday, 8th August 2021, celebrate his 66th birthday which will also be the very last birthday he will celebrate as governor of the state. To this end, lawmakers of the 7th legislature took turns to felicitate with the governor and to wish him many more fruitful years ahead.
Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor of Nnewi-North state constituency admonished the governor to see his 66th birthday as a time of sober reflection on the things he has done very well as governor and other areas of improvement, stressing that Anambra state had a fair weather condition under Obiano.
Also, Ejiofor Ebele Leonard of Anaocha one state constituency wished the governor more prosperous years ahead especially as he has bequeathed an international airport to the state but also drew the attention of the governor to the state of the roads across the state, saying that efforts should be intensified to put them in good shape.
On his part, Deputy Speaker of the state assembly Rt. Hon. Dr.Paschal Agbodike in showering encomiums on the governor on his 66th birthday, noted that the governor has brought peace, security, infrastructures and other things that make life worth living; praying that God should sustain him in all his endeavours thereafter.
Emma Nwafor of Orumba-south state constituency said it was not praise-singing that the governor has indeed lived up to his electoral promises. Nwafor said the cargo airport was a big achievement and that the governor deserved more and better commendations from Ndi-Anambra whom he said were the immediate beneficiaries of the airport.
Anambra-west constituency representative Hon. Patrick Obalum Udeoba wished the governor good health and greater heights in his endeavours. While Hon. Emeka Aforka of Orumba-North constituency said the entire people of his constituency were grateful to Governor Willie Obiano for impacting so positively and putting Anambra state on the world map.
Douglas Nwachukwu Egbuna of Onitsha-North one constituency reminded the governor of the conditions of the roads, saying there was need to rehabilitate all of them while commending the governor for the laudable projects he instituted.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the state assembly Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor in sending his felicitations to the governor, described him as a legislature-friendly governor who understands the rule of law and has respect for the three of arms government.
