Obiano Donates 35 Security Vehicles To Police, Army, Navy

Anambra State Governor Chief Willie Obiano has donated 35 security vehicles to the Police, the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy.

Handing over the security vehicles to the Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of the southeast  zone DIG Val Ntomchukwu at Dr. Alex Ekwueme square Awka on Thursday,  the governor reiterated his  commitment to  stamping  out  criminal elements in  the  state.

He assured all and sundry that security remained topmost priority in his administration and that his government would continue to lend its support to crime fighting and crime detection in the state.

The governor further disclosed that his government has an invincible people in all the nooks and crannies of the state whose obligation was to gather as well as provide intelligence to security agencies in Anambra in order to nip activities of criminal elements in the bud.

The governor who pointed out that he had earlier donated five security vehicles to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, explained that the second batch of 100 security vehicles would also be provided in no distant time.

He said his administration would not rest on its oars in flushing out disgruntled elements from Anambra; that it would continue to comb all uncompleted buildings to fish out criminals stressing that any building discovered to be harbouring kidnap victims would be pulled down forthwith to discourage hostage-taking.

The governor also disclosed that the Nigerian Navy had taken delivery of 28 speed boats and nine boat ambulances to enhance security on the waterways while encouraging banks to support its security trust fund initiative.

Responding on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, DIG Val Ntomchukwu supervising southeast geo-political zone, said Governor Obiano has earned a reputation for being the powerhouse of security in the federation assuring the governor that the vehicles would be deployed for the  objective they were meant for.
