It was a sort of royal rumble today at the Anambra state ministry of health Awka where one Kate Edozie said to be the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on health allegedly slapped a male member of staff of the ministry severally on his face because the man called her to pick up her ball pen from the floor.
The said Kate Edozie who allegedly committed the offence had boasted that no one could reprimand her for her actions because she claimed to be a first cousin to the Chief of Staff Mr. Primus Odili.
The situation however rose to its crescendo when the governor’s aide reportedly siezed the young man’s mobile phone and hid it in the breast side of her dress to claim sexual assault should the man come after her to retrieve his phone from her.
But one Jennifer who was present during the whole drama, made efforts to retrieve the phone from her but received several blows on her face and as a result swooped on the governor’s aide and tore her dress into shreds. Eye witnesses said the entire senario was an eyesore and unbecoming of a government appointee to denigrade civil service code of conduct.
An eyewitness account of a guess who was at the ministry to see the commissioner described the conduct of the governor’s aide as despicable and totally irresponsible.
The visitor who gave her name as Aisha Edwards said, “The authorities should quickly redeploy her and train her properly. They should also carry out psychiatric test on her to ascertain her mental health.
What she did is a chargeable offence and if the police should step in, she would be arrested and charged immediately.”
Meanwhile, the commissioner for health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, has directed his ministry staff to submit official report on the ugly incident.
