Obiano’s Aide Foots Kerosene Fire Victims’ Hospital Bills

Raymond Ozoji, Awka

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state on Petroleum and Union  Matters comrade Peter Nwosu has undertaken to pay the hospital bills of kerosene fire victims currently receiving treatment at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka.

Nwosu said he undertook to foot the payment because of his compassionate disposition for the victims whom he said were unfortunate to have fallen prey to adulterated petroleum products.

The governor’s aide who paid a sympathetic visit to the Kerosene fire victims at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka, said government had consistently warned citizens against patronizing roadside petroleum vendors, whom he described as prime suspects for sale of counterfeit petroleum products.

He said, “We have advised citizens to desist from patronizing roadside petroleum vendors because such dealers are not accredited by government to sell petroleum products.

“We have also warned that people should stop selling unlicensed products because government will punish those caught selling counterfeit products in Anambra state. Most importantly, all illegal marketers will be arrested and brought to justice.

“My  office is working tirelessly to ensure that counterfeit products are not brought into Anambra state especially during this covid-19 crisis. His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano is committed to the security and safety of Anambra citizens.”

Nwosu however charged owners of petrol and gas stations across Anambra to partner the  state  government to enhance their operations as well as guard against sale and distribution of fake petroleum products to curb unforseen contingencies arising from such shoddy deals.

He also wished victims of the Kerosene fire rapid recovery and undertook to pay their hospital bills.
