State secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Barr.Tony Ifeanya has categorically stated that the allegations of abandoned road projects in some parts of the state levelled by some dramatis personae he described as paid agents of destruction, were arrant falsehoods and deliberate malice against the present state government.
Ifeanya said Governor Willie Obiano didn’t abandon any road project, instead he was working round the clock to ensure that all road projects embarked upon by his administration were completed and commissioned before the end of his governnent.
He maintained that contrary to the notion held in some quarters that the governor abandoned some road projects in Onitsha and some other areas across the state, Ifeanya disclosed that Governor Willie Obiano would inspect about eight roads under construction on Tuesday 17th March, 2020.
The APGA state secretary who made these disclosures during an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Awka, explained that APGA governnent has changed the narrative in Anambra state judging from the insurmountable monumental achievements of the current state government.
The APGA scribe said that the governor wouuld inspect level of work at Nteje, Nando and a host of other communites where projects were currently on-going, stressing that the said abandoned road projects in Onitsha would be accorded priority attention because the governor himself flagged off road construction in Omaba Onitsha.
Ifeanya however attributed the aspersions on the state government to campaigns of calumny by those he referred to as busy-bodies because according to him, the 2021 governorship election was forthcoming.
He said, “Whether we are doing 100%, they will be attacking us because they feel that is the only way they will fight us during the election.
“The governor is going to inspect eight roads on Tuesday, so there is massive construction of roads across the state. The only thing is that the opponents will not acknowledge it because they are looking for issues to campaign with even though they have nothing to hold on to.
“Don’t mind them. Those are paid agents of destabilisation and destruction. Even if the governor spills his blood to develop Anambra, they will not appreciate it. They have already made up their minds to malign the governor because they are campaigning for their paymasters.”
Ifeanya who was a former local government chairman of Ayamelum council area, boasted that the opposition can not dethrone APGA irrespective of their malevolence and machinations to clinch power at all cost.
He said Governor Willie Obiano has proved his mettle and administrative acumen in many respects as evident in the just concluded police games, construction of a cutting edge international conference centre, to mention a few, noting that opposition elements were on a wild goose chase as APGA remains the party to beat.
