Petroleum marketers under the auspices of Petroleum Retailers Association of Nigeria (PETRAN) says it will partner the Anambra State Government and other stakeholders to regulate product supply, sales and other chain of activities in the sector.
The oil and gas industry players made this known at the inaugural ceremony of the Anambra chapter of the association held at Laluna Hotel Awka.
Chief Charles Oraike the chairman of the state chapter of PETRAN and chief executive officer of CharlyUgo Petroleum said PETRAN would not isolate itself from other stakeholders but would ensure that it worked in collaboration with them to regulate the sector.
Oraike said the association would not be involved in any form of altercation with government but would partner it and other key stakeholders to foster an enabling business environment for petrol dealers to thrive in the state.
He said government parastatals such as the Fire Service would be most useful to the association because of the nature of the petroleum sector even as he explained that PETRAN would help address issues of siting petrol stations in ignorance at undesignated locations across the state.
Zonal chairman of the association Mr. Sunny Nkpe said PETRAN would liaise with all relevant stakeholders to ensure price stability, stability in quality product supply; and that as an association of business men and women it was pertinent they maintained cordial relations with government and other key stakeholders in Anambra state.
