Resumption: Resist Attempt To Lure You Into Violence, AAUA Urges Students

The attention of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akugba Akoko (AAUA) has been drawn to persistent calls and agitations for resumption for a new session by a cross section of students and parents on several social media platforms.

In a statement issued Tuesday and signed by the Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr Sola Imoru, the university noted that “some of these calls are laden with innuendos, rumours and outright falsehoods on the reason the University has not resumed since it proceeded on break two months ago.”

The statement adds, “We would like to state that contrary to these insinuations, the University is using the period of the break to put in place all necessary structures, including repair of facilities, especially at this period of paradigm shift in the state’s education sector, to ensure a conducive campus and a serene learning environment on resumption.

“We assure our stakeholders that Management is as concerned as the parents and students about the issue of resumption and would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the University resumes for a new session very soon.

“Students are therefore enjoined to be law abiding and peaceful. They are also urged to shun and resist any attempt by fifth columnists to lure them into violence and ultimately needlessly prolong their resumption.

“Students are advised to channel their inquiries through the relevant arms of the University.”
