UNICEF in collaboration with National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHDAD) has organised a six-day workshop for the people that will participate in the “Saving One Million Lives (SOML)’’.
SOML is an immunisation campaign against measles. It is targeted at immunising every eligible child between the ages of 9 months and 59 months with measles vaccination.
The programme has been scheduled to kick off in Aguata Local Government Area (LGA) on March 8.
The Anambra State Technical Facilitator (STF), Mrs Ngozi Nwegwu tasked the participants to be truthful and carry out their work with the fear of God.
She urged them to ensure adequate sensitisation so that every parent could be encouraged to allow their wards to be vaccinated.
The social mobilisation officer, enjoined the participants to ensure that every child in their ward would be reached, so as to give Anambra 100 per cent coverage.
Mrs Okpala said that town criers should ensure that the community stakeholders were properly informed about the programme.
She, then, enjoined the mobilisers to go from house to house to sensitise parents and guardians on the need to immunise their wards against measles.
