SDP To Restructure Nigeria

Raymond Ozoji, Awka

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) says it wants to restructure Nigeria and that for the country to make meaningful progress, it must be restructured to reflect a true federal state governed by democratic principles.

Chairman of the SDP Steering Committee in Anambra Dr.Webster Okonkwo disclosed the party’s intention to restructure the entire nation to journalists in Awka on Wednesay.

He said SDP was not satisfied with the way and manner the country was being governed by the present administration and as such the party was determined to take over the presidency in 2019 to return it to its true federal state.

Okonkwo maintained that SDP seeks to return power to the people so they can determine who represents them at all levels of governance, pointing out that Nigeria presently does not practise representative democracy.

The SDP chieftain further emphasized that the masses must decide who they want in governance even as he posited that the party has become what he described as first force in the nation’s political terrain.

He however expressed confidence that what is about to happen will overwhelm the country as the party is in good stead to battle the likes of APC, PDP, APGA and a host of others in the 2019 general elections.
