Security Agencies Launch Operation Zero Kidnapping And Other Violent Crimes In Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command on Monday together with other sister security agencies launched Operation Udo ga-achi – zero kidnapping and other violent crimes, a joint security operations in Anambra State.

Performing the flag off at Amawbia Junction Awka alongside other service commanders in Anambra State, Commandant Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC State Commandant said the joint effort underscored the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors to the state before during and after the Easter Celebration.

He said the operation in collaboration with other sister security agencies will leverage the combined expertise and resources of participating agencies to tackle insurgency, kidnapping and neutralize the threat posed by hoodlums.

According to him, there were recent reports of isolated incidents of security gaps which have raised significant concern among residents and security agencies necessitating the roll out of the operations in and around the state to smoke out criminal elements.

Maku assured members of the public that the Corps would continue to partner with the government and other stakeholders to ensure the optimum safety and security of all residents including protection of Critical National State and Local Government Assets and Infrastructure.

The State Commandant while reiterating his warning to hooligans, misfits, agitators, troublemakers, and vandals to stay away from the state or face retribution, enjoined citizens to be law abiding and cooperate with law enforcement agencies as they work tirelessly to maintain peace and security in Anambra State.
