National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mazi Ejimofor Opara, has described the Senator representing Anambra-North senatorial district at the National Assembly, Sen. Dr. Tony Nwoye as a political tout and quack medical doctor.
Opara, in a press statement made available to journalists in Awka, said Tony Nwoye had no moral justifications whatsoever to accuse former Governor Willie Obiano of using state resources to fund the election that brought Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo into office.
He said Nwoye was captured in a viral video online saying that ex-Governor Willie Obiano diverted funds meant for the construction of a road in Aguleri to sponsoring Soludo’s election with same funds.
The APGA scribe who further described Tony Nwoye as a poorly educated fellow who is completely bereft of fiscal processes and procedures, maintained that the Senator was known for his acts of brigandage and touting.
His press statement reads, “Tony Nwoye has stayed long enough on the scene to be understood for who he is — a poorly educated young man with zero understanding of fiscal processes and procedures, only deft in brigandage and touting. His records are there and his political engagement so far has proven this to be true.
“In a recent video circulating online, Tony was captured stating boldly that ‘his elder brother’, former Governor Obiano diverted public funds meant for the construction of a road in Aguleri to funding the election that produced Governor Soludo – this laughable! If only the ‘Distinguished’ Senator understood the implications of his lousy comments on his ‘elder brother’, I am sure he would realize how shamefully he has crossed the rubicon.
“As one who sluggered into politics through touting activities in the days when brigandage took centre state in Anambra politics — an era the late sage, Prof. Chinua Achebe, described most sadly as ‘Anambra taken over by renegades’ — Tony remains one of the few surviving political misfits without a life away from politics. A so-called medical doctor who has never treated any patient anywhere before within and outside the country. If Nigeria were a place where due diligence was a thing, an inquest into his undeserving MBBS Degree would expose the rot in the university system.
“This is the Character leading the charge for the Labour Party in Anambra State, thinking that a people as sophisticated as ndi Anambra can be bought over with few bags of rice, smarmy philanthropy and political grandstanding. Tony and his promoters would need to think again. Anambra cannot be taken over again by renegades, not even their vestiges would be allowed a chance to fester.”
